RapidStorage NAS enables you to protect your valuable data using our secure, resilient remote backup solution. RapidStorage was developed to give you reliable, cost effective off-server storage to back up your critical data.

Coreix offers this service across its full dedicated server range and also its colocation client base. We further offer you the ultimate peace of mind by automatically replicating the entire backup array off-site.

RapidStorage provides a simple, flexible location to store your backup data to ensure that it will be available in the event of disk failure or other catastrophic outage. Please note this service is provided as a network-attached backup storage media, and it is not intended for use as a live data storage device on your server.

RapidSync Managed Backup
Our backup system branded as RapidSync is hosted on a RAID storage-array and is fully managed from an application point of view. Once the initial backup and schedule have been configured, dedicated software can initiate backups without any need for user intervention. You will receive in-depth daily status reports.
Backups can be set from either the application of via a secure web interface; through the same application and web interface one can restore files, configure IP polices, view logs and utilise other dedicated backup features.

Encryption
RapidSync encrypts its backups for complete security so nobody, not even the Coreix staff, can read them. Only you, the client.

Secure 128-Bit SSL Communication
All communications between the backup array and your computer are transported through a 128-bit secure socket layer (SSL) channel. In addition to this you can choose to have this done over Coreix's internal private network so that the data never leaves your private virtual LAN.

Encrypted Data
Your files are digitally zipped, then encrypted with your personal encryption key before they are sent to the backup array. To everyone else, your data appears to contain nothing more than random, unintelligible content.

Top Encryption Algorithm
Your data is securely encrypted with 128-bit Twofish, a block cipher designed by Counterpane Labs and chosen by the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) as one of the five finalists for Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). The schema has been under frequent public review, yet to date there have been no known successful attacks.

Personal Encryption Key
Only you have the encrypting key. This key is used to encrypt your data and is known only by you. Coreix doesn't know it, and it is never transmitted online to any other source.

Restricted Access
You have the option to restrict access to your backup files from the set of IP addresses you pre-define. If someone tries to access your data from an IP address not on your specified list, access will be denied. This is an additional security measure to ensure your data is available only to the known locations of your choice, even in cases where the user name, password and encryption key are known.
