Billingham’s Resilient Power Solutions will install a vital battery back-up system at the EDS contact centre, on the former Samsung site at Wynyard Park. EDS is investing £30 million in the 300,000 sq ft warehouse known as Wynyard 360 at Wynyard Park and is the largest supplier of IT services to the UK Government.
Resilient Power Solutions says it is on track to treble turnover to £1 million this year as its reputation grows. The group installs technology to make high-powered IT systems more efficient, helping to slash the huge energy bills of blue-chip companies. It has developed a heat recycling system from cooling equipment, which recirculates hot air from computers for room heating. Managing director John McGee said: “The eco friendly solutions we offer are the biggest door opener we’ve got – it’s our market now. New environmental legislation is coming in all the time, so businesses have to keep on top of it.”
