If you are interested in deplaying Instant Messaging and hosting Jabber communities, in this video tutorial, Matt builds a free XMPP/Jabber server in under 10 minutes using Openfire and Centos.

Openfire can be configured from a nice web interface, and doesn’t require too much Unix command line experience. The lastest Openfire downloads can be found here:

At this download page can also be found the Spark client, Openfire can also be installed on Solaris, Windows, Debian servers, in addition to Centos Dedicated Servers
